Complete Storyline for The Life of Peculiar. An Autobiography (no spoilers)

This is the story of What Was, What Is, and What Will Be in The Life of Peculiar, as told by himself, Peculiar Cat Burglar. A spoiled housecat, Burglar loses his owner, and ends up in a cat shelter. Burglar’s a bit lost till he befriends Sweet Marie, a rather bossy Maine Coon, Too Raloo, a sometimes-confused silver tabby, Javelin, a crusty, cranky outlier, and Loki, a forest cat who can vanish into thin air. Burglar is a friendly, sociable guy who persuades everyone at the cat shelter that working as a team beats being on your own.

Together, the shelter cats, led by Burglar and Sweet Marie, launch a patrol team called The Spotters to keep smaller cats from being bullied. The Spotters’ biggest challenge comes when two big wild cats with the menacing Signs of the Serval arrive at the shelter. They’re beyond peculiar, and, everyone thinks, dangerous.

When a fire breaks out at the shelter, The Spotters discover that no one is who they thought they were, and unexpected heroes emerge. And they find out why Javelin is so cranky, how Burglar’s flashy collar got lost, and why the two wild cats were accused of turning against their owners.

Positive themes about friendship, bravery and faith in yourself resonate as Burglar shares his worries and hopes with his readers.  There’s no bad language—unless you think “Jumpin’ Catfish!” is a bit dodgy, and no violence except for a few exciting cat fights.

Burglar and his cat crew promote understanding of what being different—or peculiar—really means, and whether you’re born without a tail or without fur, doesn’t really matter.  You are what you are meant to be. That’s it, in a mousehole!
